Hades is the god of the underground kingdom of the dead and the name of the kingdom of the dead itself, the entrance to which is located somewhere in the extreme west, beyond the Ocean River washing the earth. The eldest son of Kronos and Rhea, brother of Zeus, Poseidon, Hera, Hestia and Demeter. The husband of Persephone, revered and called together with him.
