Agapenor is a character of ancient Greek mythology. Son of Alcaeus and Iodide. The leader of the Arcadians. The King of Tegea. Elena's fiance. The sons of Phegeus gave him Arsinoe as a slave. In his house, the sons of Alcmaeon killed the sons of Phegeus.
He brought 60 ships under Troy. Mentioned in myths only once. Participated in competitions in honor of Achilles in jumping. He was sitting in a Trojan horse.
On his return from Troy, he settled in Cyprus. On their return, the Arkadian ships were brought to Cyprus, where Agapenor built Paphos and erected the temple of Aphrodite in Old Paphos. Didn't come home.
